LAMNAO HEADS TOP GOALSCORERS’ LIST FOR NOW

JAKARTA (14 Nov 2011) – Laos might have been out of contention for a place in the next round of the SEA Games this year but that has not stopped striker Lamnao Singto from leading the top goal scorers list – at least for the moment at least.
After four matches in Group B, the nippy and industrious Lamnao has already scored six goals, the last two goals being those he scored against Timor Leste last night.
“It has been a tough competition for sure, full of ups and down,” said Lamnao (pix).
“We did not start very well and it was disappointing to lose some games the way we did. There’s no excuse for it especially when it is considered that we were the semi-finalists at the last SEA Games.
“I don’t go out to be the top goal scorer. I just want to score for my country. “
On second is none other than the hotshot from Indonesia, Patrich Wanggai with four goals, who has scored in every game that he plays for the host nation including one of the fastest goals of the tournament against Singapore.
The Persidafon Dafonsoro player was on target twice against Cambodia before scoring once last night in the 3-1 demolition of Thailand.
“I’m not even thinking of being the top hit man. The important thing is that Indonesia win,” he quipped.
Currently on third is Timor Leste striker Ribeiro Murilo with three goals, who incidentally had to serve a match suspension last night when the team fell 3-0 to Laos.
